This course is of benefit to anyone who is interested in gaining a greater understanding of themselves and is ready to invest their energy in their wellbeing. This 8 Week Mindfulness Course offers an intensive training in the practice of present moment awareness. Week by week you will be introduced to the key components of mindfulness and learn how to integrate it into your life so that you may experience the stress reducing and life enhancing benefits that it can bring.
Mindfulness is a mind-body based training that involves paying attention to our present moment experience with acceptance, openness and compassion. Through mindfulness we begin to experience our thoughts and feelings in a different way, freeing us from unhelpful patterns and cultivating a greater resourcefulness and resilience in our lives.
The course comprises eight 2.5 hour sessions run on Thursday evenings 6-8:30pm. It is practical in nature, introducing mindfulness in a thorough and systematic way. The course includes mindfulness meditations, simple movement practices, group dialogue and discussion and will guide you in:
- Developing greater awareness of thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations and their impact on your experience
- Discovering your own resourcefulness and learning new ways of responding to problems (physical, mental, social and emotional)
- Discovering new ways of caring for yourself
- Incorporating mindfulness into your everyday life
- Waking up to the depth of possibility for growth and change available to you
Regular home practice is a core component of this course and all participants will receive guided audio practices to support this. In addition, participants will receive a course workbook providing reference materials for each week.
This course is inspired by the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) approach developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn and his colleagues at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Our trainers operate according to the Good Practice Guidelines for Teachers laid out by the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Trainers.

There will also be a half day retreat as part of the course, date to be confirmed.
£250 per person. Course to be paid for upon booking.
This cost covers all taught sessions, a retreat day, a workbook, downloadable audio materials for your home practice and trainer support when needed between sessions via phone or email.
